Welcome!:
We are a social club and welcome visitors. Click on Contact above for some club phone numbers, to book in and get directions.
We hold two weekly sessions, Tuesday evening and Thursday morning, in the Emu Room of the beautiful and iconic Victoria Hotel (pictured). Click on Sessions above for details. Goondiwindi is known for its friendliness and country hospitality, which we pride ourselves on extending in our bridge club.
A modern and vibrant place, Goondiwindi still retains the stylish simplicity of a traditional country town. The tree-lined streets and well kept gardens nestle on the beautiful Macintyre River, which is the Queensland state border with New South Wales.

Goondiwindi Pairs Tournament 2024: The 2024 Goondiwindi bridge congress was held on the weekend of the 18th 19th May, and attracted the strongest ever field from Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast, Inverell, Warwick and Armidale. Our new director Jo Neary replaced Alan Gibson, who preferred to join in the play this year for the first time. The weekend began with welcome drinks at the Victoria Hotel on Friday evening, an event proving extremely popular with the visitors and locals alike. Play commenced on Saturday morning and continued through Saturday evening and Sunday morning. The event was won by Ian Price and Malcolm Saunders from Armidale, and second were Liz Zeller from Toowoomba, and Alison Dawson from the Sunshine Coast. Major prize winners were locals, Danah Gibson and Barb Whitmee who tied with Mike Rival and Paula Lennon for 6th Place with a tie breaker giving the latter pair the award of Best Local Pair. The congress was thoroughly enjoyed by all with old friendships renewed and new friendships made, and we look forward as always to next year’s event. [posted Fri 1-Jan-16]

Our oldest and youngest players!:
Joyce Gilbert has been playing at the club over 40 years and is one of the masters of the club. Joyce is nearing four score and ten, but still showing no signs of slowing down or relinquishing her master status!
Danah Gibson is a new player at the club, and has the honour of being our youngest club member (early twenties!) Danah is already distinguishing herself with a great mastery of the game, and in 2023 is the winner of the trophy for the player under 50 masterpoints earning the most masterpoints in a year.
